Chinese-Canadian flutist, Thomas Law, is a freelance performer, passionate educator and Music Director of the Capilano Flute Choir in Vancouver, Canada.He has performed with the Vancouver Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Vancouver Island Symphony, Kamloops Symphony, Okanagan Symphony (Acting Principal) and various local ensembles.

Thomas is well-known as a frequent recitalist, often performing with his flute-guitar and flutepiano duos, with a keen focus on performing works by women and Asian composers. He has presented these recitals at universities such as Capilano University and the University of Victoria.

Beyond his musical performances, Thomas is not only an accomplished musician but also passionately dedicated to education. He maintains a full studio of flutists across Vancouver and frequently serves as a flute workshop clinician and adjudicator. He is currently on faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music. Thomas received his M.Mus from the University of British Columbia and further studies has taken him to Pender Island, Orford, and Miami Beach, where he has gotten to study with Lorna McGhee, William Bennett, Paula Robison and Marina Piccinini.

Ben Gannon is an Irish oboist known for his thoughtful musicianship and versatility as a performer. In March 2025, he made his solo debut with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, performing Françaix’s L’Horloge de Flore under the baton of Stephen Bell.

A finalist in the Irish Freemason’s Young Musician of the Year 2019, Ben has received support and recognition from the Willem Mengelberg Fund of the Concertgebouworkest, the Trench Award at the Birr Festival of Music, the Arts Council of Ireland, and Music Network Ireland.

He has performed with Camerata Ireland, the Ulster Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. His engagements have taken him to leading venues including Carnegie Hall, Het Concertgebouw, the National Theatre of São Carlos, and Ireland’s National Concert Hall, with recent festival appearances at Birr and Clandeboye in 2023.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Performance with First Class Honours and a Licentiate from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and a Master of Music from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He is a Howarth of London Artist and plays on an XM model oboe.

Violinist Shintaro Taneda is active both as a chamber and orchestral musician. Along with being violinist in the Ethea Trio, he has recently collaborated with acclaimed artists including Kim Kashkashian, Parker Quartet, Inon Barnatan, and Shai Wosner. Shintaro is also a member of the Oregon Symphony, and a violin coach with the Portland Youth Philharmonic.

Aidan Garrison was generously supported by the Cyril and Elizabeth Challice Fund for Musicians

As avid chamber musician, Aidan Garrison has collaborated with members of the St. Lawrence string quartet, and Rosemary Elliot, and performed for artists such as Ani Kavafian, Dimitri Murrath, and Christian Colberg, as well as members of the Emerson, Shanghai, and Pacifica string quartets. He has attended the Aspen, Bowdoin, Blairsville, and Heifetz international music festivals, and was a fellow at the Napa Valley Blackburn academy.

Aidan is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree at Stony Brook University, studying with Lawrence Dutton and Matthew Lipman. While at Stony Brook his string quartet was awarded first prize in the school’s Ackermann chamber music competition. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the New England Conservatory, studying with Mai Motobuchi and Nicholas Cords.

While at NEC, his string quartet was chosen for the Community Performances and Partnerships Ensemble Fellowship, where they developed educational programs designed to bring chamber music to audiences beyond the scope of a formal concert setting. This has led to engagements across the US, including a teaching residency as part of the Virginia Arts Festival.

Beyond the scope of classical music, Aidan has collaborated with musicians from many different disciplines. He has performed with the Scottish fiddle duo Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas, took part in the premiere of Wayne Shorter’s opera Iphigenia (co-written by Esperanza Spaulding), and performed as part of the backup string quartet for Jazz/Pop artist Laufey.

Korean-American cellist Sarah Song has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in venues across North America, Europe, and Iceland. As a soloist she has appeared with the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Space and the Aaron Copland School of Music Orchestra. She has collaborated with artists like Kronos Quartet, Sæunn Thorsteinsdottir, the Metropolitan Opera, Itamar Zorman, Emannuel Ceysson, and Martha Graham Dance Company. Song is a founding member of the all-female Ondine Quartet, which received the Ensemble Forward Grant working with Todd Philips and Ayane Kozasa. She performs regularly in venues like Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, The LGBTQ Center, and Flushing Town Hall. Sarah holds degrees from Indiana University, The Eastman School of Music, and CUNY Queens College. She is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at The CUNY Graduate Center with Marcy Rosen. Her research concerns musical hybridity in cello music by diasporic Korean composers. Song lives in Brooklyn where she heads her adult cello studio and teaches at Long Island University BK.

Trombonist Lee Allen has performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the San Diego Symphony. As acting principal trombone of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, he has performed with the Santa Monica Symphony, Riverside Symphony, San Bernardino Symphony, Long Beach Opera, Burbank Philharmonic, and Los Angeles Jewish Symphony . Allen toured as a member of award-winning smooth jazz artist Brian Culbertson’s band in 2008 and also performed with Adele at the Academy Awards in 2013. Allen has worked on numerous recording projects including a project at The Bridge Recording in L.A. with Jay Friedman. He is a founding member of the critically acclaimed MOMUS trombone quartet, and a member of the Pacific Trombone Project, which comprises some of the leading players in Thailand, South Korea, China, and Australia.

A dedicated and sought-after teacher, Allen currently serves as trombone faculty and chair of brass and percussion at The Tianjin Juilliard School. There he is also a member of the Tianjin Juilliard Ensemble, an all-faculty ensemble performing chamber concerts throughout Asia. Allen is a member of the summer faculty at RondoFest in Penang, Malaysia. He has taught at the Oberlin Conservatory, University of Southern California, and Colburn School for the Performing Arts. During his tenure as assistant professor of trombone at the Oberlin Conservatory from 2013 - 2019, Allen was soloist with many large ensembles. He performed the US premiere of Christopher Starks’ Nanokonzert for solo trombone and contemporary ensemble in 2015. He also led the Oberlin Brass Quintet on a month-long tour of China and took students to Uganda, Africa as part of a collaboration with Brass for Africa. Allen has presented master classes throughout the United States, South Korea, and China.

Allen earned a DMA and MM in trombone performance from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, and a bachelor’s of music education from the

University of Kentucky. His primary mentors have included Terry Cravens, Dale Warren, Bill Watrous, and Per Brevig.

Ryuto was born in Kanagawa, Japan and completed his Bachelor degree at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music with Mr. Naoki Kurebayashi, and Master degree at the Tianjin Juilliard School with Prof. Lee Allen. During his study, Ryuto has received Seki foundation Scholarship and Maeda Memorial Scholarship. Ryuto is the finalist of American Trombone Workshop Solo Competition 2025 Division Ill and 1st place winner of the International Association of Professional Music teuchers Concours. Ryuto has joined several professional orchestras as a guest player such as Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra, Gürzenich Rochester Köln and so on.

Amy Jordaan was generously supported by the Helen Graham Artist Award

Amy Jordaan is a tenor and bass trombonist currently based in Ontario, Canada. As a member of the 2025 Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, Amy is fortunate to learn from and play alongside the members of the TSO, as well as a variety of other passionate young musicians in Southwestern Ontario. Amy also performs with various ensembles at Western University, including the WU Symphony Orchestra, Los Gansitos salsa band, and a trombone quartet.
Amy is in her fourth year of a Bachelor of Music at Western University, studying under Dr. Denis Jiron. Prior to her move to London in 2024, Amy spent two years working with Ilan Morgenstern at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. She has previously worked as a stage manager for the UBC Bands (2023-2024), the International Trombone Festival (2025), and various student recitals. When she’s not playing her trombone or working backstage, Amy enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her cat, Jack.

Cian Bryson is a bassoonist from Toronto, Ontario, currently completing his Bachelor of Music at the University of Toronto studying under Eric Hall. He spent the third year of his Bachelor’s in Finland, studying at the Sibelius Academy under Jaakko Luoma, and while there, performed with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, and as guest principal with the Tampere Philharmonic, among others. He has attended festivals including Music Academy of the West, Round Top Festival Institute, Domaine Forget de Charlevoix, and Lucerne Festival Academy, where he performed in a revitalization of Pierre Boulez’s Poesie Pour Pourvoir and in the world premiere of Dai Fujikura’s Ritual. Cian was the first prize winner of the International Double Reed Society’s Norma Hooks Competition for bassoon in 2025, the Council of Canadian Bassoonists’s Frank Marcus award in 2024, and has performed as soloist with the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, and will be performing André Jolivet’s Bassoon Concerto with the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra in 2026.

Allie Su is an internationally recognized collaborative pianist and chamber musician whose performances and teaching engagements have taken her across the United States, Asia, and Europe. Acclaimed for her specialization in wind and brass repertoire, she has collaborated with leading artists including Christian Lindberg, Nitzan Haroz, Carol Jantsch, Charles Neidich, Carol Wincenc, Benjamin Kamins, and Alexa Still. Her festival appearances include the Perlman Music Program, Interlochen Center for the Arts, American Viola Society Festival, Cooper International Violin Competition, and the Meadowmount School of Music. In 2025, Su presented a lecture on the topic of “The Collaborative Piano Landscape in China” at the CollabFest, the leading festival dedicated to advancing the art of collaborative piano.

As an active chamber musician and educator, Su has performed and presented masterclasses at Oberlin Conservatory, the University of Texas at Austin, University of Denver, University of Colorado Boulder, Cleveland State University, Taipei University, Tunghai University, Sun Yat-sen University, Seoul National University, and Yonsei University. She is also a versatile vocal collaborator, having served as a coach and pianist for the Land of Enchantment Opera, Butler Opera Center, Franco-American Vocal Academy, ISING Festival in Suzhou, and Lingua e Canto in Italy.

Su is currently on the faculty of The Tianjin Juilliard School, where she teaches in the Graduate Studies program, coaches chamber ensembles, and coordinates the staff pianist area. She earned her DMA in Collaborative Piano from the University of Texas at Austin and her MM in Piano Performance from Arizona State University.

Kailan Fournier was generously supported by the Helen Graham Artist Award

Kailan Fournier is a freelance clarinetist based in Toronto. As an orchestral freelancer, Kailan has performed with ensembles such as Les Violons du Roy, the Ontario Philharmonic, Hamilton Philharmonic, the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and various others. Kailan completed his Bachelors degree at The Glenn Gould School with Joaquin Valdepeñas, a Graduate degree at McGill University with Todd Cope and recently finished his Advanced Diploma in Performance at the Eastman School of Music with Michael Wayne. Kailan started his musical education on bass clarinet, which is quite uncommon, and loves to get a chance to explore contemporary music and the unique sounds possible on bass clarinet. In his spare time, Kailan also manages a cafe in Yorkville and enjoys rock climbing.

Cellist Ayoun Alexandra Kim, a prize-winning performer from Korea, has been recognized by the Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition and has performed at leading festivals including Music@Menlo and Kneisel Hall. She has collaborated with the Telegraph Quartet and artists such as Shai Wosner and Inon Barnatan. She holds degrees from The Juilliard School and SFCM. Her primary mentors are Natasha Brofsky, Astrid Schween, Hans Jensen, and Jennifer Culp.

Pianist Jon Lee is a first-prize laureate at the Cliburn International Amateur and San Diego International Piano Competitions, and has performed widely across North America and Europe at venues including Symphony Hall in Boston and Salle Cortot in Paris. Active as both a chamber musician and arts leader, he collaborates with artists including Clive Greensmith, the Telegraph Quartet, Nicholas Phan, and Jonathan Vinocour, and serves in leadership roles with the Hawaiʻi Chamber Music Festival and SF Chamber Sessions. He also developed MusicPodium, an iPad app for digital score reading, and holds degrees from MIT and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
 

Chi-En Wong was generously supported by the Helen Graham Artist Award

Taiwanese percussionist Chi-En Wong is a versatile performer and artistic researcher dedicated to the intersection of technical precision and narrative storytelling. Currently a Doctor of Musical Arts student at the University of Toronto, Chi-En’s work explores the art of concert curation, focusing on how narrative integration can transform the solo percussion concert experience.
Her professional orchestral career includes performing as a section percussionist with the Eugene Symphony and Orchestra Next, where she has navigated a vast repertoire ranging from classical masterworks to contemporary world premieres. An accomplished soloist, Chi-En’s commitment to excellence has been recognized through numerous accolades, including participating in the 2025 IPEA International Percussion Competition, winning second place at the 2022 Great Plains International Marimba Competition, and winning the 2020 Missouri State University Concerto/Aria Competition.
Chi-En holds a Master of Music from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Music from Missouri State University. Today, her artistry is driven by a deep commitment to the stage, blending rigorous formal training with a modern, dramaturgical lens to create immersive and conceptually driven musical experiences for audiences worldwide.
 

Over the past few years, French clarinettist Nicolas Baldeyrou has naturally established himself as one of the most remarkable soloists of his generation. Carving a unique path in today's musical landscape, this "concert artist armed for any challenge" (Diapason) demonstrates a mastery and versatility that transcends eras and styles, navigating with ease through all repertoires, on both historical and modern instruments.

Winning prestigious competitions like the Munich ARD Competition in Munich (Germany), the Dos Hermanas Competition in Sevilla (Spain), and finally, the ICA Young Artist Competition (United States) opened to Nicolas the doors of the most prestigious concert halls all over the world - Carnegie Hall in New York, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Philharmonie de Paris, Salzburg Mozarteum, Wiener Konzerthaus, Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo, Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

As a soloist he is regularly invited to perform with renown orchestras: Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Czech Philharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia and Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Starting his career at a very young age he had the chance to work with the legendary conductors – Carlo-Maria Giulini, Claudio Abbado, Bernard Haitink, Kurt Masur. Nowadays, Nicolas performs with Myung-Whun Chung, Alain Altinoglu, Pablo Heras Casado, Mikko Franck, Fabien Gabel.

Today Nicolas is one of the most demanded partners for chamber music – he shared the stage with such musicians as the pianists Bertrand Chamayou, Nikolai Lugansky; violinists Renaud Capuçon, Svetlin Roussev; violist Antoine Tamestit; Modigliani, Ébène, and Chiaroscuro quartets.

Linda Ruan was generously supported by the Barbara and John Poole Memorial Endowment

Chinese-Canadian pianist Linda Ruan is passionate about sharing the potential of music to overcome boundaries across cultures. Since being introduced to the drums at the age of four and then the piano at age seven, music has remained a stabilizing force in her childhood from Tokyo, Shanghai to Vancouver. Her unconventional path from a young age broadened her horizons and cultivated a fascination for diverse cultures. Her curiosity guided her beyond her solo piano studies, expanding to pedagogy and community engagement, fortepiano, conducting and chamber music projects. 

Linda is a top prize winner in international piano competitions including the ARD International Music Competition 2021. She has performed in venues across the world, from Carnegie’s Weill Hall and Lincoln Center’s Rose Studio to a recital tour in China spanning Guangzhou to Shanghai. 

Linda received her Bachelor of Music with Honours and Master of Music degrees from The Glenn Gould School, The Juilliard School, and the Tianjin Juilliard School respectively. Her past teachers include James Anagnoson Hung-Kuan Chen, Corey Hamm, Xiao Li, Li Wang, and Xiaohan Wang. Currently, she is studying at the UBC School of Music with Dr. Corey Hamm.

Lorena Navarro was generously supported by the David and Peggy Leighton Endowment

Lorena Navarro is a percussionist, educator, and composer. She has had the honor of sharing the stage with members from Sō Percussion, Sandbox Percussion, Bang on a Can All-Stars, and Akropolis Reed Quintet. She has performed internationally as an Artist in Residence at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada. As an educator, Lorena serves as the Assistant Instructor of Percussion at University of Central Missouri, where she teaches private lessons, coaches percussion ensemble, and teaches the UCM Marching section. As a composer, she explores writing for percussion and mixed chamber ensembles. She premiered her first solo written for marimba at the 2024 Gather Listen Hear Festival at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Her arrangement, My Neighbor Totoro: 3 Movements for Percussion Ensemble, was premiered by the Michigan State University Percussion Ensemble. She currently arranges for the UCM Marching percussion section and has previously written for the MSU Spartan Drumline. Lorena is currently pursuing her D.M.A. in Music Performance at Michigan State University. She earned her M.M. in Percussion Performance from Michigan State University and her B.S. in Music Education from Utah Valley University.

Jonathan Huard was generously supported by the Helen Graham Artist Award

Born in Rimouski, Qc, Jonathan Huard holds a bachelor’s degree in percussion from the Rimouski Conservatory of Music, a master’s degree with distinction from the Quebec Conservatory of Music, and an Advanced Certificate in Performance from the University of Toronto. Passionate about contemporary music, improvisation, and orchestral music, he actively pursues these interests by collaborating with several specialized ensembles in Canada, including GGRIL (Rimouski), the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, and Esprit Orchestra (Toronto). Jonathan has participated in the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the So Percussion Summer Institute, and several competitions, including the Prix d’Europe and the Canadian Music Competition, where he twice won first prize in percussion. In 2026, he was awarded Fourth Prize, Prix de l’Académie de musique du Québec, and Prix du Centre de musique canadienne au Québec at the Prix d’Europe Competition. In recognition of his artistic quality, advanced playing skills, and determination to pursue his career, Jonathan has received the Award of Excellence from the Quebec City Symphony Orchestra Foundation.

He is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Charles Settle’s studio. His career is marked by a constant pursuit of artistic excellence, great musical versatility, and a sustained interest in contemporary composition.

Enzo Kok (14th of August, 2002) born and raised in Kerkrade, The Netherlands, got his first violin lesson at the age of 6. With guidance of his teachers Ilya Grubert and Eliot Lawson he finished his bachelor studies in 2023 at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with the highest score. From October 2023-2025, Enzo continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Professor Ulf Wallin. Since October 2025 he’s studying at the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover with Liza Ferschtman.

In 2018 he was one of the three finalists of the Dutch Violin Competition ‘Davina van Wely’. In 2019 he received the 1st prize during the national finals of the Prinses Christina Concours. In 2024 Enzo won the 3rd prize as well as the audience prize at the Dutch Violin Competition “Oskar Back Prijs” during the finals. Enzo performed on multiple occasions in concert halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht. He gave concerts all across Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. As a soloist he appeared with orchestra’s such as the Residente Orchestra and the Hamburger Kamerata. Enzo performed with musicians as: Daniel Rowland, Lisa Jacobs, Iris Hond, Anna Federova and members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Charlotte Brussee was generously supported by the Maria Francisca Josepha Brouwer Fund for Dutch Artists
 

“She was born for the stage”; as such commented the jury at her final exam at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Charlotte Brussee (1999) was admitted to the Sweelinck Academy of the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2014, as well as being principal cellist in the string ensemble “Fancy Fiddlers” of Coosje Wijzenbeek for exceptionally gifted young string players. At this conservatory she had lessons with a.o. Monique Bartels and Maarten Mostert, and most recently with Michael Stirling, with whom she completed her Bachelor studies. Subsequently she continued her (master) studies at the Hochschüle für Musik Detmold with Xenia Jankovic, and currently at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Raphaël Pidoux.

Charlotte was prize winner at a.o. the Britten Cello Competition and the Prinses Christina Competition and had masterclasses with among others Pieter Wispelwey, Jérôme Pernóo, Gregor Horsch, Dmitri Ferschtmann, Gary Hoffman, Reinhard Latzko, Xenia Jankovic, Leonid Gorokhov, Emanuelle Bertrand, Véronique Marin and Astrig Siranossian. She played solo with orchestras including Amsterdam Sinfonietta, and played chamber music with Candida Thompson, Leonid Gorokhov, Maja Bogdanovic, Daniel Rowland, Anna Fedorova, Dana Zemtsov and members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra.  Moreover, she played in ensembles such as Cello Octet Amsterdam, Kamerata Zuid, and as principal cellist of the Ricciotti Ensemble. In the summer of 2025, she was selected as principal cellist of the symphony orchestra of Stellenbosch International Music Festival in South Africa.

At present, she is affiliated as “Young Artist” with Daniel Rowland’s International Stift Festival, and recently won the audition for cellist in Dutch orchestra collective Pynarello. To her great delight, Charlotte plays with a rare Radrizzani cello from 1910, generously on loan to her by The Netherlands Musical Instruments Foundation. Her bow was made around 1900 by Frech master bowmaker Charles Nicholas Bazin, in the atelier of Peccatte.
 

Maxim Heijmerink was generously supported by the Maria Francisca Josepha Brouwer Fund for Dutch Artists

Maxim Heijmerink, born in 2000 in Amsterdam, is a Dutch pianist, composer, and storyteller. Internationally, Maxim has performed in the United States, Canada, Switzerland, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, and Israel, appearing in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, and the Concertgebouw. He is a member of the vibrant Van Gogh Trio.

Awards
Maxim has won two First Prizes at the Prinses Christina Concours, the Classic Young Masters Award, the Steinway Award, First Prize at the Orbetello International Piano Competition (Italy), and was a laureate of the American Virtuoso International Music Competition (New York).

Highlights
In 2019, Maxim toured Canada and the United States. In collaboration with the Rotterdam Youth Orchestra (RYO), he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in Rotterdam and Berlin and composed a work for orchestra, piano, and choir, which was performed as part of a charity initiative for an audience of 25,000 people at Ahoy.
Education

Maxim earned his bachelor’s degree in Amsterdam and his master’s degree in New York, where he studied with Jerome Rose. He is currently enrolled in the Meisterklasse in Leipzig, studying with Professor Markus Tomas. He has taken part in masterclasses with leading musicians such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Jerome Lowenthal, and Boris Berman.

Most recently, he made his debut performing Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto in Leipzig with the Orchester der Musikalische Komödie. In the summer of 2025, Maxim was invited to a three-week residency at the prestigious Banff Centre for Arts in Canada and, together with his Van Gogh Trio, made his international debut concert in South Africa.
