All you need is a go-to karaoke song and a hint of stage presence. This year, karaoke nights are every other Thursday and hosted by Miss Rizz, Banff Centre’s own Queen of Karaoke.

Marissa (Miss Rizz) is an interdisciplinary artist and arts administrator living and working in Banff on Treaty 7 territory. Originally from Calgary, with ties to Edmonton and France, she spends her days in theatres and her nights chasing a good performance. She is no stranger to karaoke and firmly believes everyone has at least one great song in them. Marissa loves a strong duet, a tight three-minute song, and a dance break (only if there is full commitment). If she’s hosting, expect good vibes, zero judgment, and potential costume changes.

Sean is a regular on the CBC's The Debaters with 30 appearances on the show.  He has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and filmed Just for Laughs galas in 2013 and 2020. Sean is the winner of the Just for Laughs homegrown competition, awarded each year to Canada’s funniest new comedian. His other festival credits include three appearances at the Halifax Comedy Festival as well as the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2013 and 2016.  He has written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes and is a two-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee.  His work can also be heard on XM Radio.

well as the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Due to popular demand he has been hired to

Charles Haycock is a unique comedian in many ways. Whereas most good comics command an audience’s attention by being larger than life, Charles drops all the pretense and offers up a quirky playful style that makes the crowd WANT to listen. His humour is subtle, yet uproariously funny. Charles branches off in unexpected directions, and is gifted enough that the odd jokes that MISS are often as funny as the ones that hit. Born in Toronto to Sudanese parents and then raised in Alberta, Faris Hytiaa brings a unique mix of storytelling and observational humour to the stage. Known for his relaxed delivery, honest storytelling, and quick wit, his unpredictable style makes for big laughs and unforgettable crowd work moments.

Sterling Scott has graced the stage of every major festival in the country, he also has a new album coming out on Amazon prime entitled “Good Days Better Nights” he was also signed by Kevin Hart to LOL, writer and actor on “This Hour has 22 minutes” Winner of the San Francisco comedy competition, and has taken home the privilege of being the first ever Canadian comedian to win $25000, the golden buzzer, and be a finalist on Canada’s got talent. Sterling does more than give a show he gives you an experience!

Brittany Lyseng is an award-winning stand-up comedian and writer. Her comedy career began after 12 years as a tradesman with the desire to lift less and laugh more. In November 2024, she won the Seattle International Comedy Competition, making her the first Canadian female to claim the title in its 44-year history. 

Her debut set on Don’t Tell Comedy has amassed over 15 million views online, and she’s been featured on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, CBC’s New Wave of Stand-Up Comedy and CTV’s The Stand-Up Show with Jon Dore. Her work on Roast Battles Canada was nominated for a 2022 Canadian Screen Award. Brittany regularly performs at clubs and festivals throughout North America, including Just For Laughs Montreal, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, JFL 42 and JFL Northwest.

Bria Hiebert is a Toronto-based writer, actor and comedian. She’s performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Just for Laughs Toronto and New York Comedy Festival. 

Bria was the 2018 recipient of the Brian Linehan Comedy Writing and Performance Award for Outstanding Artistic Promise and received the Tim Sims Encouragement Award in 2019. Her debut full-length album Big Naturals was released in February of 2026 and can regularly be heard on SiriusXM.
